About me

Nick Sosa, owner of Nick's Computer Rescue

Nick Sosa

Owner · Center Point, TX

I'm Nick Sosa, and I run Nick's Computer Rescue out of Center Point, right in the middle of the Hill Country. I've been the guy people call when the computer stops cooperating for about as long as I can remember — the kind of kid who took things apart just to see how they worked, and never really grew out of it.

I've done tech work around here for well over a decade, working on machines for neighbors and small businesses long before I ever put a name on it. Starting my own shop was mostly just making official what I'd been doing all along.

I serve Kerrville, Center Point, Comfort, Ingram, Hunt, and the communities around them, and I've been lucky to call the Hill Country home for about fifteen years. When I'm not working on tech or PCs, I'm usually listening to my hi-fi stereo, running Linux, cooking, or spending time with family and the dog. I'm genuinely excited about the new AI tools coming out, and I can't wait to keep working with them — for myself and for my clients.

Faith and family matter to me, and so does this community — I plan to be around a long time.

My in-home promise

Common questions

Straight answers before you call.

Do you work on Macs?

Yes. I work on both PCs and Macs — hardware, software, and everything in between.

How far do you travel?

I serve Kerr County and the surrounding Hill Country area — Kerrville, Center Point, Comfort, Ingram, Hunt, Fredericksburg, and nearby communities. Not sure if you're in range? Just ask.

What do you charge?

$25 travel fee for all on-site visits, plus $60 per hour of service. A typical one-hour job comes to $85 total. No membership, no hidden fees.

Do you charge if you can't solve the problem?

No. If I work on something and can't resolve it, I won't charge you for that time. I'll be upfront with you about what's possible before I start.

Can you help with phones and tablets?

For setup, configuration, email, apps, and connectivity — yes. For physical screen and hardware repairs on phones, that's outside my scope.

Do you do remote support?

At this time we do not offer phone technical support.

How quickly can you come out?

I'll do my best to get to you same day or next day. Call or use the contact form and I'll get back to you within 24 hours to schedule.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, Venmo, and major credit cards. Payment is due at time of service.

Are computer people confusing to deal with?

Not here. I explain everything in plain English, I'll show you what I'm doing as I go, and I won't make you feel bad for not knowing — that's literally why I'm there.

Will you mess up my stuff?

I back up your data before touching anything and I'll walk you through what I'm doing before I do it. No surprises.

Do I have to leave you alone with my computer?

Not at all. Stay and watch, ask questions, or go about your day — whatever you're comfortable with.

Will you track mud through my house?

On days with inclement weather or at your request I will wear disposable shoe covers.
